CHD Families in February 2009... Red Hot Nights fundraising event for Children's Mercy Hospital, American Heart Assocation Heart Ball, and the CHD Families art project.

This summer we went to Deanna Rose Farmstead and Kaleidescope at Crown Center. The pictures are from our trip to Crown Center. Enjoy!!

We had a great time packing carepackages at Jamie's house. Good thing she lives in the middle of nowhere so we'd have room to park 15 cars! We have 50 packages including blankets, toys, toiletries, and meal cards to CMH ready to go!

Check our pictures of our local families at Plant Hope For Heart Defects, a foundation that raises money for CMH's Cardiac Clinic. This year we were a sponsor and several families were able to volunteer during the event. CHDFamilies were invited on stage when the $35,000 check was presented to Dr. Kaine. What an amazing event in memory of a precious girl.

We had a great time at the Lakeside Speedway!! Sixty tickets were donated to CHD Families by Marc Olsen who owns the race track. A special thanks to Christy Martin, a CHD Families member, and wife to Scotty Martin #25, for asking for the donation of tickets to the group. www.lakesidespeedway.net

2007 was the 20th annual American Heart Association Heart Ball. The AHA invited some of our families CHD Families to attend the Heart Gala as well as the benefactor party the month before. Throughout the entire event, CHD awareness was prevalent. During the live auction, our families were invited on stage and Congenital Heart Defects Families Association was named. As our kids stood in front of 1000 people representing all of our families, the AHA raised five thousand dollars to help further research for heart defects. Families were chosen for this event based on their previous involvement in raising money for the AHA through the heartwalk.
